- Occupational health and safety (OHS) requirements, including personal protection needs are observed throughout the work.
- Materials are selected and inspected for quality.
- Masking tooling and equipment are identified and checked for safe use.
- Procedures are determined to minimise waste materials.
- Procedures are identified for maximising energy efficiency while completing the job.
- Prepare vehicle body surfaces by masking
- Surfaces to be refinished are cleaned of contaminants.
- Components and ancillary fittings that can be affected by the refinishing process are protected and/or removed, tagged and stored securely.
- Surfaces adjacent to the surfaces to be refinished are protected using approved masking methods and materials.
- Preparation is completed without causing damage to component or system.
- Masking procedures are carried out according to industry regulations/guidelines, OHS requirements, legislation and enterprise procedures/policies.
- Waste materials are disposed of in accordance with statutory and enterprise requirements.
- Clean up work area and maintain equipment
- Materials that can be reused are collected and stored.
- Waste and scrap is removed following workplace procedures.
- Equipment and work area are cleaned and inspected for serviceable condition in accordance with workplace procedures.
- Unserviceable equipment is tagged and faults identified in accordance with workplace procedures.
- Operator maintenance is completed in accordance with manufacturer/component supplier specifications and worksite procedures.
- Tooling is maintained in accordance with workplace procedures.
